Formula URL Button Help

I am looking for a URL button that can be used on multiple report.

  1. Forumla URL  button to edit the record  
    1. (Easy enough)
    2. URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=er&rid=" & [Record ID#]
  2. *The user will make changes or updates to the record*
  3. Now, I want the ability for the user to click a button to save the record & return them to the report in step 1...
    1. The last part is where I am struggling.  I can do a save button that returns them to a specific report but I need the button to redirect them to *wherever* they were when they clicked the edit button in step 1.
Any help with a possible solution would be greatly appreciated!

    Is there a reason you need to use a custom save button? Typically when you edit a record from any report and you save using the native green save button it returns you to the report you came from.
