Help with basic if then formula involving dates

Struggling with my first formula.  Trying to flag a column either RED or GREEN based on a date.  Ex.  If Install Date is before Equipment arrival date, flag it RED.   I was trying If([Install Date]<=[Equipment arrival date], "RED", "GREEN")
