How to identify parent record with consecutive dates in the child record

Hello! I have a parent (Agents) and child (Absences) table. I want to identify which agents have multiple absences records that have consecutive (absence) dates.

Let me know if you need more information.
  • So it can be a little tricky to make children records talk to each other - which is more or less what you need to happen here. One solution might be to use an automation that will target an absence record for the prior day. Basically the way I think it could work is:

    1) Automation triggers when you add a new Absence record.
    2) That automation tries to edit another record in the Absence table.
-> The filter condition - meaning which records you want to modify - will be the Absence record for that Related Agent - and the Date is the day before.
-> Just check a box or something in that record to note that its a consecutive day absence.

So technically you are editing the Prior day in this case - but with it you could summarize how many times these get tagged as having an occurrence like that.
