How to prepopulate a current user field to a related record?

Can you tell us what the key field Type is for Contract  Coaches?  What field type is cb_id?

Yes, it is numeric.

    Essentially it is the record ID#.

      And one more question. Does the coaches table have the user ID for the coach?

        It does not. It has a Record ID# and a Contract Coach User (Text) field from the lookup table as well as a Contract Coach User formula field - ToUser([Contract Coach User (Text)]). There is also a Contract Coach User (User) formula field - ToUser([Contract Coach User (Text)]). I'm sure there was a reason for all of these but I've recently inherited this process and can't change key fields on the Contract Coaches table because it will affect so many other relationships.
