The alternative could be to deal with the removal in Excel, but it would take a formula in excel to remove the trailing characters.
Presumably you are aware that you can have a formula field in QuickBase to convert the User field to a clean name
UserToName([Project Manager])
But you said "without using formuals".
It is also possible that your User fields are actually selected from a table of users and their clean name may be there. You could choose to export their Name instead of their Userid.
