Thank you, I've taken the proposal to change the field type to rich text to my team. This doesn't 100% solve our problem because we use excel to import the requirements which are sometimes uploaded in batches as large as 100+ , so opening each record to format the text is still not ideal but at least it's an option to consider. I hope in the future QB finds a way to allow formatted text to be imported.
