I created a scatter map of locations using longitude/latitude as X/Y axis. There was an upper limit of data points. You could do something similar giving grid locations of your shop. But how to overlay on a map? I guess in my mapping situation, I ran into a similar challenge of showing the boundries of states.

Good thinking. So Shirlee's best bet here is to reorganize her building to follow some well-known geography, so for example she can assign lat/long coords to her storage locations and train the freelancers to recognize 'the mailing supply cabinet is in Poughkeepsie, the client files are in Ithaca,' etc.
