Is it possible to search for a contact in the CRM app, but from the Help Desk Home Page?

When creating a Help Desk ticket, the contacts we associate with the tickets are from a table in another app, the CRM App. I'm just looking to put a search bar on the Help Desk home page, that would inevitable search all the contacts. It can even go TO the CRM app, because in each contact record, we've created a "Add Ticket" button that would take you back to the Help Desk App. But we JUST want the search bar on the Help Desk app, not the whole web page for Contact Search.
