Is Quickbase Essentials still offered?
After 30 days of working with QB and deciding to move ahead, I now see that it's for 20 users minimum! I only need about 5....

There is one business day left in 2018, Monday. If there is any day they will cut you a deal, that will be it. Put in a support ticket and see what they can do for you if you commit to give them your credit card on Monday.
Plan B is to contact one of the larger QSP shops as Quick Base recently changed its Terms Of Service to allow the reselling of seats. So they would be in a position to sell you 5 seats at a lower cost that the full 20.
