Kanban vertical organization?

Does anyone know if there's an option for vertical organization coming for Kanban reports? I'd love to be able to see each column organized by (a date field of my choosing) nearest date at top, furthest date at bottom. Right now it seems like the default way they're organized is by date modified or created?

    I heard from Sam Jones the Product Manager that that is a bug and we are supposed to be able to control the sort

    So I expect to see an enhancement or a bug fix soon

    Sam was also thinking it would be nice to be able to drag and drop vertically and have that sort "persist".  But that was just future "musing" on his part.  The sort was a bug so a faster fix.
