Link records in both directions (automatically) within same table?

I've added a 'related record' field to a table, and by setting a relationship between the table and itself, have been able to use the record picker to select a related record when needed. The record where the update is made will link to the related record. This is working fine. 

Is there a way to have the 'related record' field in other record update automatically to link back to the one where the manual link was made? As in, if I select '150' in the 'related record' field of record 200, is there a way to have record 200 update so that the 'related record' field now contains '150', without making the change manually?

    Why not just put an embedded table on the Record showing a Report link of its children?

      Thank you for responding so quickly! I just tried to set that up, and am presumably doing something wrong, because (using the example above) it embeds a table which shows record 150 on record 200, but the embedded table on record 150 is empty.

        Try reversing the two fields on the report link field configuration.
