Lock a Record if another User has it open

I am not sure if this is possible but does anyone know a way to lock a record if another user has it open?  Or even better, make it view only if someone else has it open in edit mode?  We have multiple people working off a list of records and i want to find a way to stop two people from opening and working the same record at the same time.

  • Quick Base have native functionality to resolve record conflicts when saving, so normally you don't have to worry about this. Does this solve the issue?  It is usually quite rare.

FAQ: What happens when two people edit the same record at the same time?

With lots of people working together, it's inevitable that two staff members might edit the same record simultaneously. If someone else snuck in and modified the same record you're working on and saved before you did, Quick Base lets that person save without a care. But don't worry, just because you were late to the Save button, the program won't leave your edits stranded. If you make changes which are different and try to save the record, Quick Base displays a message telling you what's happened. When it does so, the program shows you the specific fields that are in conflict and asks if you want to overwrite with your version.
