Missing Records/Data Issue

Hi,

Is there anyone facing issues with missing data or records on Quick Base lately? I am having this issue. Can anyone help me in understanding why this is happening?

Thank You

Nikki

  • You can set up an email notification to come to you and have it fire when a record is deleted.  Include the "marker" to show a copy of the changed record in the email.

As for retrieving lost data, Quickbase retain nightly backups of your app each night at midnight for 14 days and then Sunday nights for 6 months.

You can you put a support ticket into Quickbase using the ? icon at the top right and they can offer you different methods of looking data for previous nights.  They can provide a CSV file for example from several different days in the past, or they can restore a copy of your whole app to what it looked like a particular days in the past. Then you would have to figure out which records used to be there but are no longer there.  Be sure not to ask them to roll back your whole app to a previous day with an over wright because then you would lose all of your current data entry. So you have to be very particular about what kind of restore request you're asking for

  • It is highly unlikely that QuickBase is randomly deleting your data. It is much more likely that you have unexpected users or an unexpected automated process deleting some records.

One solution is to set up an email notification to notify you when records are deleted. Then you will get a clue as to who or which automated process is doing the deletion.

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

First, this is a very good suggestion to have it email me when anything is deleted from quickbase. Could you please guide me on how to do this?

Second, we haven't made any changes recently nor added any automation process or anything. This is why I am trying to understand why this is happening now and if there is any way we can retrieve the missing data.

Let me know if you have any idea.

    Thank you
