Multiple Fields Auto-selected for Embedded Reprot

Hi Everyone, 

When you create an embedded report and make it editable, after a user adds a new record it automatically fills in the value (say record ID) of the newly added record.  Other than using a button, does anyone know a good way to get quickbase to autoselect multiple fields when the record is added?

For instance, I'd like record, added via the embedded report to be marked with the related site (record ID) and a box checked indicating its for business development.

Any ideas?

    Child records added in grid edit on a form should automatically connect themselves with the parent record. 

    As for the checkbox, you can set a default value for any field, if that solves your issue, or if the flag for Business development is based on some other kind of business rule, you would need to have an Automation fire to set that value if certain conditions are true.

      Hey Mark, 

      The record is usually associated with the Parent because its built-in when you make the relationship,but as you know the report link really just works on two matching fields.  The matched field is then automatically added as you describe.  The issue is that there is no way for the record in the embedded report to automatically know the logic (Ex. Busienss Development).

        I'm not understanding this 

        The issue is that there is no way for the record in the embedded report to automatically know the logic (Ex. Busienss Development).  

        I'm now not sure what your question is.
