New Forms - How is it supposed to return after editing a record?

Ive noticed on the new forms, if you edit a record and save or cancel, it doesnt land you on the record, but rather returns you from whatever report you launched off of. Is this expected behavior or a bug? Anyone know?

*Update - I just noticed there is a now a 'save and view' option in the save dropdown, so clearly designed behavior.
