Notifications to distribution groups (Outlook DGs)

Is there a way to enable a notification to email an Outlook DG? I have tried: creating an email formula field with the address using the open permissions making the email a user email field to ...

Thanks Mark. The DG is internal to the company but our company QB Administrators told me it requires some magic on the admin side to create a group from our master employee record so I can use it to send a notification.

I understand that the DG members are internal, but if the DG email address is not a "User", then that is sending to an external email as far as Quickbase is concerned.
