Opening Links in New Browser Tab by Default

Is there a global or app setting to open all links in a new tab or window? When clicking on a link in a Text-Multi-Line field, the link opens in the same page resulting in navigating away from the original record. Is there a workaround for this? I feel like there should be a global setting to control this behavior.

    There is no Global setting.  You would need to train the users to "right click" on the link and select "open in new tab".
