Oracle Import

  1. Is there a way to automate an import directly from Oracle?
  2. When importing data to a child table how to I make sure it references the correct parent record?

    I use QuNect (QuNect.com) and Microsoft Access.  There are probably better tools than Access but it is what I know.  QuNect gives me ODBC to Quick Base.

    I harvest what I need from the Oracle tables using their ODBC then append it to Quick Base.

    For the Child Parent situation, you populate the Reference field in the Child table with the value of the Key Field of the Parent record.  Without knowing your table structure, it is difficult to give much more.

    If I am using the Record ID as the Key Field, then the Parent record must be created first, then the Record ID harvested so it can be used to populate the Reference field in the Child record.
