Order of numbers

Quickbase (like pretty much everything relating to computers) orders numbers like so:

1
10
11
12
2
3
4
etc...

So if I have something labeled Truck 1, Truck 2, Truck 3.....and try to sort by that field, the sort is always 'out of order'.

I understand why it is doing that, but is there a work around, or just bad practice to name anything in this way?
