Override Record ID

Question

A new supervisor deleted an employee from our roster, this is a parent table to multiple child tables for things like PTO requests, coaching reports, and employee self-evaluations. Is there a way to create a formula that will override her new Record ID and replace it with her old one so that she can be reconnected to her existing child records?

The old data still exists, it is just orphaned. Just got to each table with Orphans and grid edit those records to link them back to the replacement employee record.

Thanks Mark, that was my last ditch fix, we were hoping for a way to recover her old Record ID to avoid doing the grid edits. :)

Hi Christine,You may have already started doing the Grid Edit method at this point but another option is to use the Find and replace in these records option on a tables List All report search for the old related record ID to replace it with the new one. It can help speed it up a bit compared to using the Grid Edit since they are bulk changing. Mark - Just FYI, the grid edit did not work for us.&nbsp; Because the record was a lookup field, grid edit does not work.&nbsp; Unless there is some permission that we can turn on for doing this?&nbsp;&nbsp;It wasn't too terrible of an ordeal, thankfully it was a new record and had very few orphan records!------------------------------Christie AndersonProactive Care Management AssociateAetnaNew Albany OH9592307059------------------------------
