Pipelines vs Automations

Question

Hi everyone,When automating things in Quick Base (no outside API needed) what is the general guidelines on when to use Automations vs Pipelines?&nbsp; Is there any benefit to moving existing automations to Pipelines?------------------------------Ivan Weiss------------------------------

I personally don't see any benefit to moving an existing Automation which is in production and works just fine to be a Pipeline. I think that the decision only comes when making a new one.

The decision factors for a a new internal one (ie Quick Base to Quick Base), in my opinion will depending on the complexity of the steps. if you can do what you want in One Automation, I would use an Automation. But if you find you need to set up a series of Automations triggering off a Previous one completing, then I would consider an Automation as it can have branching logic.

Thanks Mark.&nbsp; My one pet peeve with automations is troubleshooting them.&nbsp; I had one just fail on me that has been in place for several months.&nbsp; It gives no help as to why it failed grrr------------------------------Ivan Weiss------------------------------
