Re: Trigger email to customer 1 day before activity

Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt.  But it won't work. 

 When automations first came out, record changes were done has individual edits. And indeed initially you could fire individual emails on a scheduled basis or with the click of a single button.
However a month or two later automations were changed to treat these kind of updates as a mass update and hence  you'll find that you're not able to trigger individual emails anymore. It will be treated as a multi record notification which of course cannot go to individual email addresses.

       That was one of the first things I tried out when automations came along because a common problem is to be able to send out mass individualized emails.
      I am actually not sure if QuickBase made that change to improve the efficiency of automations or another possibility is that they really don't want to allow QuickBase to be a mailing machine engine.   There's actually no limit to the number of individual email notifications you can send and they may have been concerned that Developers would start mass emailing from QuickBase and either over burden it's servers or else cause QuickBase itself to be flagged as a spammer and be blocked across the Internet. Once your server gets tagged as being a source of spam it can be very hard to get off those blacklist.

      Anyways, that is all just speculation on my part and we are where we are.
