Related table value with conditional dropdown gets set to 0

BackgroundWorkstation Hardware (child) and Tracking Board Master (parent) are related with a conditional choice. Please see screenshot below.

Issue: We are running into this issue where repeatedly the related table field on many rows is getting set to 0. It seems QuickBase Actions or Pipelines are changing this. But there is no pipeline or QB action that is changing the selection in for the dependent Related field to be nulled. Nor are any of the actions or pipelines changing the Related Tracking Board Master field itself. This one is really stumping us. We have multiple such relationships built in our database, but none of them are behaving this way. Seems like a bug. Any suggestions on how to debug this further?

Thanks a lot. Uma

  • Do you have a form rule that is trying to populate it? Or is there an import that you do/have done previously through Excel that would have provided a null/0 value when you loaded data?

Hi Chayce, no form rule. And these are set with specific values and then they get set to 0 randomly. Thanks, Uma

When you say they're set with specific values? What does that mean? If the value of that field is being set to 0 then it sounds like whatever process you have to set that value is returning 0 or null during that load.

  • Hi, ok, so i suggested, create a "log" pipeline, when the field change to 0 save a record in other table with date, user, and all information that you think is important.

    Thank you
