Report link with blank source

Question

I want a report link that shows all records where a lookup field is blank: i.e any child records without a parent. I am trying to achieve that by using a blank formula field as the source for the report link, however that does not work. Is it possible to do what I want here?

You should be able to just add a report filter like the one below.&nbsp; The field named 'Master List of Cost Description' is a Look up field from the Child to the Parent table.

Follow up: turns out that setting a formula(numeric) that equals 0 as the source works. I guess instead of being blank, the reference fields equal 0 when the record does not have a parent.

Oh, and for whatever reason "Only include values if they match exactly in both fields" has to be checked off.
