Search looking for exact match even when not selected

The search on my dashboard is looking for exact phrase despite this not being selected as an option for the search. To make it search for two different words I am having to use the AND or OR operators...

I agree that it would be nice to have a third configuration settings for those search boxes so that they would behave more like a Google search where you can search on multiple terms which would be treated as an automatic AND separator.
