Searching on formatted phone number = no records found :-(

I recently received this question on one of my Quick Base Junkie YouTube videos... "I'm using QB and for some reason when I search the database by phone I keep having to take out the dash & parenth...

I am having this same issue. I cannot search regardless of the format I use.

Edward, can you expand on your use case. Are you trying to search on just he numeric part of he phone # ? for example the # is (800) 555-1212 and you are trying to search on 5551212 and not getting hits?

  I try searching both (800) 555-1212 and 8005551212 and neither produces a result.

    phone numbers do not default to being searchable. Look for this setting in field properties
    Searchableble
    
    Include this field when searching/filtering this table
