Sketch on Form

I have a form that quotes pricing. I have an automation set up that sends approved or sold quotes over to an order sheet/table. We also need to have a sketch of that sent over along with the order details (all of which is already coming over from the quote form).

What I am trying to see if its possible to do is have the user sketch out a 2D drawing of it similar to this- It doesnt even necessarily have to be this detailed:
What I have thought of so far is to have a file attachment where they can manually sketch it up and scan it- or use another software to save a file to their computer and attach it. It would be better yet if there was something to sketch in a large box basic dimensions/shapes.

  • Hi Mike,

One option to add to your manual sketch and scan idea would be to have users use the Quick Base mobile app on their phones to edit the record and add a picture of the sketch using the camera on their phone. Another option is to integrate with another system to import sketches. You could integrate to varying degrees depending on your level of skill or budget. Please let me know if you'd like to explore integration options further. Thanks.

  • To add on to Mike's response,

There is a way to do this with HTML/JS... but it's definitely an advanced technique, which would require a canvas element, and then saving the drawing into an image in a file attachment.

It's doable, but if you're not a developer, it's complex.
