Table Alias Not correct

So all of my tables have a table alias that generally follows the naming of the table.
Example:
Work Orders table has an alias of: DBID_WORK_ORDERS
Locations table has an alias of: DBID_LOCATIONS

All of my tables follow suite except one and it causes some issues every once in a while.

My Notes table has an alias of: DBID_TABLE_1

I have no idea why it is like that or how to change it.
Even if I knew how to change it, I am a little hesitant to change it for fear that it would break all my automations, relationships, etc., stemming from or leading to that table.

Any idea as to why it has an alias of DBID_TABLE_1, and if I can change it to: DBID_NOTES  ????

By changing it, if possible, will all my automations, relationships, etc., remain intact?

  • It is not possible to change the date of name and if it was possible if you would break everything.

The App is  probably about a year or so old I'm guessing? When they came out with a new way of building apps with that automatic process to build and link the tables visually, regardless of what you named the tables, the tables were named like table 1 and table 2 and table 3. Then that was fixed a few months ago. So I'm thinking that you created the app using that new visual builder method and that's where ut picked up that table name.

Makes sense. I did start working on this project over a year ago and while there have been many iterations, new tables, etc., I guess the one table that has never changed is the Notes table.

So I guess that if I wanted to have the table alias be NOTES, then I would need to remove the current Notes table, create a new one, and rebuild all the relationships and automations. That seems like such a huge undertaking for such an insignificant thing.

      Thanks Mark!

If you go to the table home page for Notes, there will be an option to Copy table and a change to rename it. That way you get your data, fields and forms and reports, but not relationships.  But since the table alias is just used in formula URL buttons, it's probably not worth it.
