Text as Key Field.

Hello,

I'm using a Text as a Key Field - [Charge Code]

The issue I'm running into is that whenever i change the [Charge Code], it disconnects the child records associated with it. How can i make it so that the Related Charge Code for the child record updates when the Parent's Charge Code is changed?

    You will need to change the Key field of the table back to [Record ID#].  Then he will go to the relationship and edit the field properties for related charge code field to set it to have a proxy field of the charge code.  

    QuickBase typically handles this very well maintaining all the linkages but if you've never changed a Key Field before you might want to make a copy of your app and play around with it there to get comfortable with the concept
