Update records in Sync Table

I have a sync table with Field 1 as "Refresh Update Key" in the sync and a different Field 2 as the Key Field. I need to correct a bad record in the table, by changing the value of Field 2 with a particular field 1 value.  But When I sync the new record, quickbase says it syncs OK, but the record doesn't actually update. Is this possible?

    In my experience with sync tables.  Anytime you change the key field from the 'sync' key field. It causes all sorts of errors and problems with the sync.
