Way to trick QB to show RIch Text Buttons more cleanly?

I make custom rich text buttons so i have more control over the shape and look. It's great, but when I place them next to report links, it creates a large amount of 'gray space' (see below). Is there any trick to getting rid of this? All I can think of is having the button on a different line than the report link...

This only happens in view mode, not edit mode. Though I'm not sure how to use that fact to my advantage....

  • I wonder if setting a max-height property is CSS would do it. I don't think you'll be able to completely eradicate the CSS without switching to a URL formula.

You know what is interesting? I just implemented it in another area and it doesn't do that. Time to troubleshoot and see what the culprit is....I'll report back when I figure it out.

Well - I figured it out, but it still doesn't completely make sense.

I had the section heading set to 'labels appear to the left' and switched it to 'labels appear above' (I also have no labels showing, ie i have alternate text checked and it's blank). This fixed it.

But here is where it gets interesting - I left it alone (labels on left) and I switched the Section ABOVE my section to 'labels above', and that ALSO worked. No clue how a setting in the section above it affects the section below...and I suspect with more testing I would find more solutions or interesting behavior.

But for now, simply change either that section or the section above to labels above field, and it solves it...
