Thank you! ------------------------------ Chris Swirtz ------------------------------ Re: Alternative to form rules when making changes via Grid EditThe name of the dropdown field containing the 3 validation choices is [Epic Compatible]. And the 3 choices to select are as follows: No, Not compatible No, does not meet Epic's minimum specifications Will not be used with Epic ------------------------------ Chris Swirtz ------------------------------ Re: Alternative to form rules when making changes via Grid EditHi Austin, I have not hear of the Pipelines, I will have to look into those. As for what i am trying to do, there are 3 choices in a dropdown field of like 10 total choices that if any of the 3 were selected I would like the check box to go from unchecked to checked. So with a formula I could do something like: If([Epic Compatible}="No", Yes) or something to that effect? ------------------------------ Chris Swirtz ------------------------------ Alternative to form rules when making changes via Grid EditSo I think it is pretty well known by now that form rules don't fire when making changes to records in grid edit form. My question is what is the alternative to automating changes? I guess the obvious answer is Automations, but is that the only/best option to this problem? Essentially I have a checkbox that I want to be marked checked based on selections made in another field, but that field will primarily be updated via a report in grid edit form. ------------------------------ Chris Swirtz ------------------------------ Restricting field access for reports by userIs there a way to restrict certain users from being able to use a specific field in reports? I know on the field setting level you can uncheck the box that allows the field to be used in reports but that restricted everyone correct? I would like to just restrict certain users? Alternately, if reports are already made with that field in it and then that option is turned off in settings, will that field be removed from said reports? Or just restrict use for future reports? ------------------------------ Chris Swirtz ------------------------------ Removing Add New button from table home pageIs it possible to remove the green "Add New" on a table home page? I don't want to take away the privilege all together, but more so force a user to create new records in that table using "Add New" buttons created within other tables and reports. ------------------------------ Chris Swirtz ------------------------------ Mass deleting records using info from a spreadsheetI have a spreadsheet with 2400 or so Workstation names that represent records in the Workstation table that need to be deleted. Is there a better way to go about deleting these records than finding them one by one in the table? My initial thought was uploading the spreadsheet matching the field and it would potentially just update those fields and I could then search by last modified perhaps. But not sure if that will work like I am thinking, specifically because the upload won't actually change any info. ------------------------------ Chris Swirtz ------------------------------ Can buttons on a report be clickable while in Grid-Edit mode?Wondering if its possible to have buttons field utilized in a report remain clickable when the report is switched into grid-edit mode? ------------------------------ Chris Swirtz ------------------------------ Re: Utilizing a different form when clicking the "Add Record" buttonWell Don, that worked, thank you. Couple things though... 1. Is there way to show a button instead of that lock picture? 2. this type of field does not have the option to open in a new window like others do (unless you right click and select that from the menu, which they won't want to do). This is something my boss is definitely going to ask for. ------------------------------ Chris Swirtz ------------------------------ Re: Utilizing a different form when clicking the "Add Record" buttonI just tried the same formula in a Rich Text Formula field and it's giving me the same error var text URLGenAdd=URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_PERIPHERALS] & "?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&_fid_15" & URLEncode ([Record ID#])&"&dfid=11" & "&z=" & Rurl(); ------------------------------ Chris Swirtz ------------------------------
