ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Exact Forms: Quotation Marks Not WorkingUpdate: Turns out the issue is inherent to the Microsoft Word exact forms. I revised the form in HTML and like magic everything worked again. Why that wasn't my first thought, I have no clue. But anyway, lesson learned: only use the Word macro for formatting. ------------------------------ Benjamin Golden ------------------------------ Re: Exact Forms: Quotation Marks Not WorkingThat's definitely an option I considered, however I'm not the only person who works on the app in question and I'd like to add as few fields as possible. Having conditional logic in the EF itself is my plan A, and I know it's possible with vanilla QB since I already have some working. But my main concern is the fact that quotation marks just don't get processed correctly regardless of anything, so it'd be nice to know how to fix this so that plain text documents with quotation marks display correctly. ------------------------------ Benjamin Golden ------------------------------ Re: Exact Forms: Quotation Marks Not WorkingI should add: this happens regardless of whether the text in question is Javascript or plain text. For example, "Hello" becomes ?Hello? ------------------------------ Benjamin Golden ------------------------------ Exact Forms: Quotation Marks Not WorkingHi, To make a long story short, I've been trying to make a specific exact form, but have come to realize that any single or double quotes in the body of the form appear as '?' in browser, which of course breaks any Javascript that might make use of it. Is there an alternate character I can use to make my Javascript work? I tried it out on both Chrome and Firefox For example, I might type out ~=if(f[23].charAt(0) <= 1){“Safety”;}~ and Chrome outputs Sorry, 'if(f[23].charAt(0) <= 1){?Safety?;} contains a JavaScript error: Unexpected token '?' ------------------------------ Benjamin Golden ------------------------------Re: Where can I find the Quickbase SDKs?So, after some investigation, it seems like the VBA SDK doesn't work with MSXML 3.0, 4.0, or 6.0. The problem here is that, while MSXML 2.0 is the recommended version to reference, it's completely deprecated and no longer distributed by Microsoft. Is there a fix for this?Re: Slight Page Shift UpwardsTried it out, I think he just had his browser window zoomed in. Thank you! ------------------------------ Benjamin Golden ------------------------------ Slight Page Shift UpwardsHi everyone, A coworker of mine recently had a minor issue with the page shifting upwards (probably a CSS error) on certain report pages. I haven't been able to recreate the situation on my own computer, and it seemed to have no particular rhyme or reason when he showed me what was going on with his. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and is there potentially a fix in the works? ------------------------------ Benjamin Golden ------------------------------ Re: Preserve 24-Hour Time Format in FormulaeTotally fine, just figured it'd be worth asking since I know QuickBase has a couple of hidden formula functions that someone might know about. I should've probably looked in Uservoice first since there is a suggestion with around 50 votes that asks for 24 hour time in formulas, but it'd be a good thing to see in the future. For now, I used the code snippet I wrote out in the OP and it works for what I need it for so no complaints here. ------------------------------ Benjamin Golden ------------------------------ Preserve 24-Hour Time Format in FormulaeI have a Formula-Text field that has a Time field inserted into it. The field itself is set to display a 24-hour format, but when put into the formula via the ToText() function, I get the standard format. So the way I see it, I have two options: 1. Write a subformula like Right("00" & Hour( ), 2) & ":" &Right("00" & Minute( ), 2) or 2. Use a function that's not listed to preserve the format. Is there one available, or should I just go with writing out the function? ------------------------------ Benjamin Golden ------------------------------ Re: User Fields in Exact FormsThanks Laura and Xavier! Hopefully someday they'll have something native to exact forms that can do this without having an extra field, but as long as I'm using the best practice available I can't really complain. ------------------------------ Benjamin Golden ------------------------------
