ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: email attachments Now we have Pipelines, I expect this should be possible. I've created a Pipeline (with the help of AI Smart Builder) that successfully triggers when I receive an email, and successfully creates a Quickbase record, but fails when I try to upload the Outlook email attachment to the Quickbase record. TheUpload a File action in Pipelines asks for a URL (The source URL of the file), but my only options areName, File Transfer Handle&Title. I was hopeful thatFile Transfer Handlewould do the trick... but sadly it didn't. Has anyone successfully copied Outlook attachments to Quickbase records? Get geolocation lat long on mobile Quickbase I used to be able to use geo locate apps from the exchange to get my current lat/long GPS coordinates. However, that no longer seems to work. I'm guessing since Javascript has been disabled. Does anyone know if I can use Quickbase on my phone and get the phone's GPS coordinates into Quickbase? Best I have at the moment is an address field. Then I tell users to click on the map option, choose Google maps, long press on the spot they want, tap on the red flag, copy the lat long, go back back back to Quickbase, paste the lat/ long into a special field. That field triggers a Quickbase action to update the same records street1 and street2 fields with lat long. ... so you can see why I want a more streamlined method!!! I know Fastfield is an option, but don't want to have to fork out extra $$ for it and it's not yet secure enough for some of our clients. ------------------------------ Matt Stephens ------------------------------ Re: Remove totals column from summary report Hi Quickbase, it's been a few years since this post.... but I for one REALLY want to be able to remove the totals column on the far right. Extremely meaningless and somewhat confusing on some of my reports which use rich text summaries to create words. ------------------------------ Matt Stephens ------------------------------ Re: Quickbase Actions subsequent Actions limits (infinite loop stop) Thanks Mark. I decided to test this with a loop that I forced to stop after 230 actions, and it made it there, so I think you are right. Sensitivity: General Quickbase Actions subsequent Actions limits (infinite loop stop) Hi, I have a complex set of Quickbase Actions that does just what I want it to do... doing one thing in the Quickbase app sets of a cascade of actions all over the place that loop until everything is sorted out. Is there a limit to how many follow-on actions I can trigger based off an initial trigger? ------------------------------ Matt Stephens ------------------------------ Re: Allow child tables to lookup parent data even when user does not have permission to view parent. Thanks John, I think I will go with your suggestion of limiting report and form views. Especially since the I expect the app to grow on complexity, requiring more and more automatons to keep the withdrawn order up to date. Your suggestion has saved me a few hours today, and possibly days of work in the future. Sensitivity: General Re: No Data Available on Dashboard widgets? Hi Mike, I had the same problem this week. I had the same dashboard open on two different computers with the same login. One computer had theNo data available problem while the other one was fine. Refreshing didn't fix it. But I tried 10 minutes later and it worked again. ------------------------------ Matt Stephens ------------------------------ Allow child tables to lookup parent data even when user does not have permission to view parent. Override sub-field access I like this field setting: Use the access permissions above even if they are less restrictive than those of the sub-fields Sub-fields are the fields used to calculate this field's value However, I'm trying to achieve a similar thing between tables, not just for fields within a table. Is there any way I can have a user view child table data that is based on lookups from a parent table, even though the user doesn't have permission to view the parent? I would similarly like to have one for summary fields too. Something like this imaginary field setting for a lookup field: Use the access permissions above for this lookup field even if the user does not have permission to view the parent data within the parent table. Here's my specific example. I have a table of Orders and a table of Supplier Inventory. The Supplier Inventory is viewable by all, whereas I have restricted viewer access on the Orders table to only those users that are involved in the Order (I don't want customers to ever be able to see other customers' orders). However, I do want to base theRemaining Stock in the Supplier Inventory off any new Orders since the last Supplier Inventory stocktake. I have thought of a few ways to do this, but nothing seems pleasantly simple. Quickbase actions to update a separate Public Orders Info table. This ends up getting complicated because the actual withdrawn quantity is based on at least 5 other tables (Deletions, variations, etc.), Quickbase Pipeline to update a static Remaining Stock field based off the formulated Remaining Stock field whenever something happens in any of the other tables. Probably my best bet. Open up the Orders table to be viewable to all Too risky I'll go ahead with Option 2 in a couple of days... but would love to know if my imaginary field setting is possible... or if there's a better way to do it. ------------------------------ Matt Stephens ------------------------------ Re: Save new record, pause, refresh That seems like a more robust solution... especially if the page name was specific enough that I could copy it throughout all the apps in my realms.... then I don't have to update codepage # in the formula. ------------------------------ Matt Stephens ------------------------------ Re: Save new record, pause, refresh that was an easy fix... thanks! works a treat! ------------------------------ Matt Stephens ------------------------------
