The custom permission would only allow editing privileges for that particular role if the status was not equal to closed. Of course, allow admins to always be able to edit in case you ever need the override you mention. Hope this helps! ~RobRe: Can I use API_DoQuery to automatically relate records to different parents?I have found luck with code pages. Sorry I cant expand. Im on my phone. If no one jumps in Ill elaborate later when Im back near my station.Re: Can I use API_DoQuery to automatically relate records to different parents?I dont know if you are comfortable with JavaScript, but if so, there is a pretty good example of that use case in the example use code for this QuickBase Module. https://www.npmjs.com/package/quickbase Maybe that will help you. ~RobRe: Enforce unique values in field and also allow blanks / empty / null values. Thanks, Donald. Your solution was on point. I hope I can help you out one day. ~RobEnforce unique values in field and also allow blanks / empty / null values.I have a table of individuals. A subset of these individuals exists in this table, lets call them VIPs. These VIPs are tracked with an (internal) ID that is unique within the Individual table; however not all individuals are VIPs. Is there a way within the individual table to enforce a unique value on the VIP ID field even though a majority of standard individuals will not have a VIP ID (but rather they will have a null, empty, or blank value)? Hopefully this is simple and I'm just too tired to see my solution. Thanks in advance.Re: Button that will open a new window which is an HTML pageYou can do this with a code page. Short version is: 1. Create a code page called shipping-label.html (or similar) and paste in your code. 2. Create a formula URL field in your table that opens that page (there is a setting to open the target in a new window/tab) and add the button to your form. 3. Use URL query parameters in the formula URL field or ajax on the code page to pull in record data from the form (Quickbase API_DoQuery) and replace the placeholder content in the html with jquery or similar. Im happy to elaborate if you have questions. ~RobRe: Kanban Column LimitWouldn't be able to drag my issues from one stage of its lifecycle to a rejected stage across reports. I do not think multiple reports for one purpose is a reasonable solution. I would prefer to just not have limits. See: JIRA Thanks for the reply though. :)Re: Javascript in Formula URL HelpSee:https://api.jquery.com/deferred.then/ also:https://api.jquery.com/deferred.done/Re: Javascript in Formula URL Help$.get is shorthand for a jquery Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) call. The asynchronous nature of this allows for exactly what you are looking to do in a non-blocking way. You just need hit up a .then() or similar after your API call. Here are some docs: https://api.jquery.com/jquery.get/ More stuff:https://api.jquery.com/category/ajax/ Hope this helps, ~RobRe: Custom HTML page to submit form -- I want to redirect to an external URL following ""submitI wonder if an html redirect would work in your code page? What happens if you place the following in the head ofyour example: (<head>) <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; URL= http://www.google.com/" ; /> (</head>) It might remove the need for a user to click a button if it works.
