ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Countdown days until a specified date Greetings, This post is the one I found would be most relevant. I have a report containing fields [QName], [Overall End], and {Next Val Date] which is a report formula (Formula - Date) containing ToDate([Overall End]) + Days(90). This performs exactly as needed.. I tried adding a filter that would only show the records that were within 5 days of [Next Val Date] however, the criteria is a text field rather than allowing me to select a date 5 days before [Next Val Date]. I found this post and tried both suggestions but I don't have [Next Val date] to select from in the fields drop-down. I used {Formula - Date/Date/Time/Numeric/Duration] but none showed [next Val Date] in the fields list. What am I missing here?? ------------------------------ Rene Jamis ------------------------------ Re: Redirect to report in another table Hi, 1st let me say thank you so very much for your assistance Mark. While the last code you provided didn't work, It was enough to help me think through what needed to happen and what was what. After trying countless, ok well, maybe not countless but certainly a dozenish, I figured it out. It came to me at 4ish AM, or at least the hunch that the following part of the formula was wrong. URLRoot() & "db/" & dbid() & "a=q&qid=11&nv=1&v0=" & ). I read the following in the URL Formula Buttons for Dummies app, "& "?a=dr&rid=" this says "Action = Display Record and the Record ID is"" This morning as I tossed and turned trying not to think of work, it thought "WAIT! a=q&qid=11&nv=1&v0=is a string literal and I don't think it's the same as the report link and Voila "tablereport?" was missing from your string. My DB Admin's gonna be impressed. Again, thank you so so much for your patience and assistance. Cheers ------------------------------ Rene Jamis ------------------------------ Re: Redirect to report in another table I'm not quite sure how this would work since, it would appear that all ID seem to the the same #. Here are the report links for 2 different lists. The only difference is the actual list name.at the end. https://jlodge.quickbase.com/db/somestring/tablereport?a=q&qid=11&nv=1&v0=List+1 https://jlodge.quickbase.com/db/somestring/tablereport?a=q&qid=11&nv=1&v0=List+2 I presume the ids you wanted me to change for the code were "q&qid=11"? Is the ampersand "&" the issue with just using one of the links I showed here as a redirect URL? ------------------------------ Rene Jamis ------------------------------ Re: Redirect to report in another table No, the page has a dropdown that displays: List 1 List 2 List 3 etc. Each list generates a report with different records. Each record has a button "Claim", which when clicked, takes the user to the Default form for the table the report and page the dropdown is in, where the user clicks a 2nd button that reads [Add Record]. The process itself works, but instead of the saved record returning to the Default Form where they clicked the Add Record button, I want to redirect the user to the list they clicked the "Claim" button. The reason for this is so the user doesn't have to click "Reports and Charts">"Claims List">"Select list from the dropdown">"Display Report". ------------------------------ Rene Jamis ------------------------------ Redirect to report in another table 1st let me apologize for the post if this answer has been provided in another post. I Just Cant Get It. (Head ban on wall)!!! Scenario: in default page allows users to select a list from a combobox. (List 1, List 2, etc)_. Each list has different records. Each record has a button that locks record x to the user that clied it and keeps others from editing that same record Regardless of the list/record in the list that is selected, the default .Form is displayed. Form contains Formula URL field displayed as a button [Add Record] containing the following formula. If( ="List 1", URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_TABLE_B] & "?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&_fid_29=" & URLEncode ([CID])& "&z=" & Rurl(), "") When clicked 's default form is opened, CID is populated into that form, and other fields are displayed. When saved, user is redirected back to .Dafault Form where the [Add Record] button was clicked. What I want is for the user to be redirected to the list they initially selected. I've tried: If( ="List 1", URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_TABLE_B] & "?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&_fid_29=" & URLEncode ([CID])& "&z=" & Rurl(https://quickbasecomain/blah), "") __________________ URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_TABLE_B] & "?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&_fid_29=" & URLEncode ([CID])& "&z=" & Rurl("https://quickbasecomain/blah"), "") __________________ var text RedrctURL = "https://..."; URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_TABLE_B] & "?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&_fid_29=" & URLEncode ([CID])& "&z=" & Rurl(RedrctURL), "") __________________ var text RedrctURL = "https://..."; URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_TABLE_B] & "?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&_fid_29=" & URLEncode ([CID])& "&z=" & Rurl($RedrctURL), "") I clearly need a URL Redirect for super dummies So much for wanting to be a QB app developer. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks ------------------------------ Rene Jamis ------------------------------ Re: Weird Glitch with Form Rule to show/hide tab(s) within a section.... Apologies, That's what I was trying to get across as my work-around "Fix". This "Glitch" has a couple parts to it. 1. Tab 1 showing all elements by Default, which I created a fix for via what you mentioned. 2. All Tab elements not showing when a Tab past 2 is Shown via another form element. The only work around for that is to include a rule that shows every element in Tabs 3-x. Personally the not showing Tab elements until the Tab is clicked doesn't bother me much, but it's all a preference thing and that's the work-around. Thanks. ------------------------------ Rene Jamis ------------------------------ Re: Weird Glitch with Form Rule to show/hide tab(s) within a section.... I didn't seem to find the "Fix" to this in the posts I looked at so I thought I'd provide some Intell/Obervations/My fix here. My Use Case: Section 1 Element1, Element2 Section 2 Lots of Elements Section 3 5 Checkboxes 5 Tabs Varying # of elements per [Tab] _______________________ Problem Was: In "Add" mode, & edit if I specific conditions occurred, the following occurred. Tab1 elements were always visible, even though form rule1 was: Whenchkbox1 = checkedShow[Tab1] - In "Add" all fields are blank (Unchecked). In theory, that rule should supersede the [Tab1] "clicked open" default behavior mentioned by Mark Shnier. That default behavior is clearly not limited to [Tab1] as posted by Sherry Blackburn. I can confirm the 1st 2 [Tabs] exhibit this behavior (Glitch1) The ONLY fix to having all elements for Tabs exceeding 2 is to write rules that Show every element in the [Tab]. In my case, and perhaps for others, I don't want [Tab1] to be shown by default when the form was opened in "Add", or edit if the project [Form] was not truly going to be started (i.e. Only a proof of concept project). In order for no [Tabs] to be shown by default, I created a new [Tab1] that has no Label and created a rule that would never evaluate as True. Referencing the top of this post that looks like this: In Section1 When multiple conditions are true All Element1 is equal to blank Element1 is not equal to blank Show [Tab] (This is now Tab1. My guess is the function that controls the creation/displaying/setting focus to [Tabs] has code that limits those behaviors. Hope this helps someone and provides some intell on what's goiung on with Tabs. ------------------------------ Rene Jamis ------------------------------
