ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsSingle field used multiple times on form I'm hiding/showing tabs based on a field value. The tabs represent different workflows. The workflows use the same fields as well as fields unique to that workflow. In the past, I was able to select the common fields on each tab. I got a warning when saving the form, but I was allowed to add the same field on each tab. In the new form builder, I'm not able to repeat a field, even on a separate tab. I went back to the old form and it appears that too has been locked down. Any ideas on work around? Is there a setting which allows me to select the same field on a single form? ------------------------------ Cathy Wilbur ------------------------------ Re: API_GenAddRecordForm and save record correct, tried that and it does not work. thanks for the help ------------------------------ Cathy Wilbur ------------------------------ Re: API_GenAddRecordForm and save record Hi Mark - I actually didn't see your reply until last week. Code you provided solves half my problem workflow 1 1. user clicks a button on a report line 2. button does the api_genaddrecord form, opens form (this works, no issues) 3. user fills in data and clicks 'submit' custom button on form 4. submit button uses API_EditRecord&rid to chnage some fields & save (this works using code above) then user redirects user to originating report (not working) workflow 2 1. user edits existing record 2. user fills in data and clicks 'submit' custom button on form 3. submit button uses API_EditRecord&rid to modifiy some data and redirects user to originating report (not working) Issue: this is where I'm stuck. code above saves the record and redisplays the form. I want to go back to originating report, which can vary. Code above redisplays the form after save. I want to hide the save and close button. trying to make the edit/close/return be one action There are multiple submit buttons which i show/hide based on the state of the record. And of course, user can navigate to the form from multiple reports. Right now I'm forcing them back to the table home report. so they then have to go back to the report they were using (work queue, exction report, etc). Thoughts? ------------------------------ Cathy Wilbur ------------------------------ API_GenAddRecordForm and save record I'm using API_GenAddRecordForm to copy existing record to new record. The form is displayed with the 'copied' data but until the new record is saved, there's no Record ID assigned. I need a record id assigned for another step in the edit process. Any advice on how to copy the record, save the copied record, retrieve the copied record id and then edit the copied record? ------------------------------ Cathy Wilbur ------------------------------ Crosstab report with data dataI have two tables (students, courses) which are related in an associative table (student courses). I have a unique compound key on the associative table, so I know there is only one occurrence for each student/course combination. I need to create a 'crosstab' like table with the courses across the top and students down the left, with the completion date (field in student courses table) as the detail in the crosstab which can be saved as a spreadsheet. Unfortunately, I can only summarize (count) the data, not display the 'date' data (completion date) Algebra History Bear, Yogi 1/1/18 6/1/19 Doe, Jane 2/15/18 1/15/16 Flintstone, Fred 2/5/17 Lewis, Rita 2/5/17 Smith, Bob 6/1/19 6/1/19 Here's what I've tried 1. summary field in student table, one field per course, using 'max' to get the date. This works, but I have 55 'courses' and I really don't want that many columns in the student table 2. created a new table using title of course as field name, then used automations to load the data. I run into issues with the merge, but I'm still playing with this to see if I can get it to work. 3. I'm also going to see if I can use connected data to solve??? Appreciate any hints or ideas on how to solve. Feels like I'm missing some really easy solution? ------------------------------ Thanks, CW ------------------------------
