I moved the rule up to top of rule list...and when I re-opened it is now displaying the message. Re: Is there some way to create a pop-up alert whenever user edits specific field but only for flagged records?the field is part of form...and still see no message. Do you think it may be a bug that needs to be reported? Re: Is there some way to create a pop-up alert whenever user edits specific field but only for flagged records?Well this is closest thing I was able to figure out. But when I open the record...I do not see any message. Do you see any problem with this? Any Idea why I cannot see the message? Re: Is there some way to create a pop-up alert whenever user edits specific field but only for flagged records? Thanks - Yes an alert is preferred as users should be able to modify QTY on occasion. But think form rules as you describe might do it...will experiment with them and see. Thanks for your response. Is there some way to create a pop-up alert whenever user edits specific field but only for flagged records? We plan to add a checkbox to records in a table. The checkbox will be checked when the ITEM has components. If the components checkbox is checked... it will be considered a "flagged ITEM record". We want the "flagged ITEM record" to display an alert reminder whenever a user tries to edit the flagged items QTY field...and if a user tries to edit the QTY field they will see an alert to remind user that the ITEM has components, and that the component items must also be edited. Ideas about how this might be possible? Re: How to format API_GenResultsTableHi Jack...great ino, thanks for sharing. Just FYI...your pastie.org link no longer works here.Re: EDIT mode page shows different fields and sections than VIEW mode page does - why? Thanks to both of you for your responses... I figured this out finally, and discoveredI had 2 issues: 1. The Section in my formcontaining the Field in question, was hidden for editingto the users in the role I needed to grant access to, but only for one of the users in that role So I copied the role, renaming it to something relevant for the new role, then assigned the user to the new role. This made the Field visible for the user, but did not allow editing even though the role permissionshad the Field set to modify. 2. I then discovered the Field in the table also had further permissions for the defined Fielditself. After setting the Field permission for the roleto modify (below), all started working as expected. My Problem: I mistakenlybelievedthese permissions were linked to the role permissions, and I did not realize editing the Fieldaccess under roles, did not affect the permissions defined in the tables Field. Re: EDIT mode page shows different fields and sections than VIEW mode page does - why?OK thanks. I guess it has to be aform rule because I am using same form for both VIEW and EDIT for that role. Guess next step is to figure out which rule. My initial review of rules does not appear to have anything that would affect this, butwill play around with disabling rules that had the missingsections in it to see if that makes a difference. Will keep this updated until I figure out what my issue is.EDIT mode page shows different fields and sections than VIEW mode page does - why?I cannot figure out why a users role is missing sections from form while in EDIT mode, but are visible in VIEW mode. Also have field that I set custom access for user role that is set to "Modify"...but does not show up on EDIT form as editable. Any ideas on what's going on here?Re: Is there a way to send a DAILY SUBSCRIPTION notification containing a Report to non-users?The fact that QB does not allow email subscriptions to be sent to non-app users is irritating. But it is probably an effort to prevent some from setting up subscriptions that regularly spams 1,000 of people. Would be good for QB to develop a Non-appverification feature that allows app managers to get "subscription receipt approval" from owners of external email addresses. Once an external address owner approves subscription receipt, these addresses could be added to an "Approved Non-appEmail List" that could be added to subscriptions. The email subscription can also have a link that allows external address owner to stop the subscription any time, which removes them automatically from the "Approved Non-appEmail List". Adding this extra step is cumbersome...but should overcome the spamming concern. I mean for crying out loud, why does the subscription feature even allow adding external addresses to subscriptions in the first place.
