View icon missing from reports
Hello, When I opened up my QuickBase tables today, I found that I only have a record's "Edit" icon/button available in any report I view. The "View" icon/button is gone. I made sure that "Allow viewing records from this report" is enabled, so that's not the issue. For simpler Forms, using Dynamic Form Rules is a good idea. Since the Forms we use are much more extensive (multiple sections and multiple tabs), I think I'll be forced to use the URL button. Hi Jeff. Thanks for the advice! That's an option I've considered before. I think the downside to navigating directly to the new form is that every time that record gets accessed, the URL button would have to be clicked to get to the alternate Form. Alternately, I could link the URL button to the Code Page URL which I believe will remedy that issue. It would still require the URL button to be clicked once during the record creation. Doable. Does anyone know how to trigger a URL to fire based on the property of a separate field in a Form instead of needing to click a URL button? Background: My company uses a generic Form (dfid=11) for engineering support requests. If an Engineer from Group D is selected then the user gets redirected at that moment to a similar but separate Form (dfid=12). IOL Redirect that utilizes a QB Code Page was used to accomplish this but will no longer work with QuickBase's updates. I came upon this exact same issue that ASullivanFFR asked about. I have a report that I want to automatically filter for my username and when the "Current Status" of the record is not Completed nor Cancelled. I solved it by using the suggesting from the 2nd comment in this forum AND by changing the criteria from "is not equal" to "does not contain". ------------------------------ Christopher Job ------------------------------Re: How to switch the Form a current Record uses.
Mark, that's a great idea though I don't believe it'll work for my application since I'm not able to dictate which reports the users access records from. I have a table I'm working with where a record gets created for every project assigned to a team member. I'd like to have the records already created and populated from the last two months use a different Form that I recently created. I'm already familiar with Image Onboarding combined with URL redirect, but that only seems to work when new records are created. In this case I would like the recent, existing records to use this new form (qty = 15) and have all the older records keep the older Form.
