One question, as a general rule can I always count on form rules that are triggered by Saving a record to fire before any automation? (That's what made this work as opposed to my previous attempts.) ------------------------------ John Sampath ------------------------------ How to capture users that have updated a record in one fieldI am trying to capture all the users that have updated a record in one field of list user type. Every time a record is updated and saved the field should be appended. It should be straightforward but it is not. What is complicating this is I have multiple automations that are fired when a record is saved. Since I developed these automations , they are updating the last modified by field with my name instead of the user that caused the triggering action. As an end result I am not able to leverage the last modified by field to capture the user name who caused the triggering action. The same holds true if I try using the user() function in a formula. Is there a solution please? ------------------------------ John Sampath ------------------------------ Re: Displaying Quickbase data utilizing HTML & CSSThank you Mark, Adam, and Audrey! All of your feedback was extremely useful. I am going to try your suggestions. Really appreciate it. ------------------------------ John Sampath ------------------------------ Re: Displaying Quickbase data utilizing HTML & CSSHi Mark, I have considered formula rich text fields, but I would have to create one for every field. I would like to avoid doing that if possible using a code page. Is there a way to do this please? ------------------------------ John Sampath ------------------------------ Re: Displaying Quickbase data utilizing HTML & CSSThank you sir for the response. The syntax makes sense but I have some follow up questions I can create a rich text field and embed this code in it. However I would like to be able to use this in a code page. How do I pass a a specific record's Data Test value to the code page. (i.e. user selects a records, clicks, code page comes up.) Thank you. ------------------------------ John Sampath ------------------------------ Displaying Quickbase data utilizing HTML & CSSI am trying to create a form for view purposes only. This form needs to be presented to an executive committee. (I don't want a word doc/pdf. ) I have seen stuff online that describes rich text pages and code text pages but this just describes displaying static data. (i.e. "Hello world.") . I want to display a single Quickbase record but format the display using HTML/CSS. I have seen a reference which states:"You can use text pages to store XSL / XSLT style sheets. You can then display a report or record using your XSL styles."Can anyone please provide some examples that I can reference using stylesheets or Rich Text pages? Thank you. ------------------------------ John Sampath ------------------------------ Re: Would like to reload browser window after a SaveThank you as always Mark. That worked. ------------------------------ John Sampath ------------------------------ Would like to reload browser window after a SaveI have a text field called Status on a form and a formula text field called Status Dynamic which is hidden from users. On save I have an automation that copies the value from Status Dynamic to the Status field. The copying does occur but what does not happen is that the Status value does not automatically refresh on the form after the Save. I need to reload the browser and then I can see the new value. I would like to avoid this additional manual step. (Interestingly enough my embedded report does automatically refresh.) I am looking for a solution that does not required I create a new Save button. However if I need to do so then I need to know how to hide the existing standard save button on top. Thanks. ------------------------------ John Sampath ------------------------------ Re: Quickbase Action Not Occurring When Triggering Criteria is MetI came up with a workaround based on thinking about this further and Ursula's feedback. I created a checkbox field for every state. So when I go to a certain state then the corresponding checkbox is automatically checked. The subsequent action now correctly triggers based on the checkbox. (For whatever reason Quickbase can register a check box changing value from False to True but it cannot handle a text multiple choice field value changing. [also this is further proof that this is not a timing/asynchronous thing.] It is what it is. :-) ) Thank you very much Ursula, Mark, and Jordan for your feedback. ------------------------------ John Sampath ------------------------------ Re: Quickbase Action Not Occurring When Triggering Criteria is MetSame issue unfortunately. (Automations same thing.) (TheFire "change" actions only when a condition changes from false to true option is NOT checked. so that is not root cause for why it is not working. ) QB for whatever reason will not read the Status field (which is text multiple choice type) when the action's trigger criteria is being checked unless I manually change it and save. Any other ideas please :-) ? ------------------------------ John Sampath ------------------------------
