ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Can't print/save report as .pdf Mike, We also started getting intermittent issues with Print failing in fairly long prints. I have a case with Level 3 support at the moment they are looking into it supposedly. I will pass the fact that I am not alone on to them. If you start a case, and I suggest you do, ask to piggy back ontop of #724177 ------------------------------ Thanks, Jeff ------------------------------ Re: Find if text field contains \n or Line Break Another trick to identify and change or replace text fields is to use the URLEncode() on the field first, this displays lots of funky things that you can Find/Replace with <space> etc. ------------------------------ Thanks, Jeff ------------------------------ Re: stripping hidden characters from text strings to enable field equality I did find a solution to this eventually, in case others have a similar problem. It turns out using the urlencode() function at the start converts all the strange characters, and there are a bunch of them into things like %0D%0A %0A %3A So you can basically trim out the garbage by SearchandReplacing all the different weird characters and replacing them with a space "%20" Upper(Trim(SearchAndReplace(SearchAndReplace(SearchAndReplace(SearchAndReplace(URLEncode([My TEXT Field]), "%0D%0A", "%20"), "%0A", "%20"), "%20", " "), "%3A", ":"))) Then the text comparison is equivalent. ------------------------------ Thanks, Jeff ------------------------------ Polar chart integration Has anyone successfully used code pages or other techniques to use native QB data to display a Polar Chart in a dashboard? A polar chart has basically the same data as a Bar Chart, just displayed radially in a circle. ------------------------------ Thanks, Jeff ------------------------------ Re: stripping hidden characters from text strings to enable field equalityOoops on my formula var text A = SearchAndReplace([Live Field A],"\n"," "); var text B = SearchAndReplace($A,"<br>"," "); Trim(Upper($B)) ------------------------------ Thanks, Jeff ------------------------------ stripping hidden characters from text strings to enable field equality I am using a staging table to compare a .CSV import to a bunch of live data. I have maybe 50 fields to compare and I am trying to check a few thousand records regularly and just flag the fields that have changed. This is typically prettystraightforward as they are text fields and using a List function and a bunch of if statements, I can easily display the field names when Live Field A <> Import Field A. My issue is lots of text fields are appearing as not equal, though they look the same when displaying them. I have used the tricks I know to tidy up hiddencharacters... var text A = SearchAndReplace([Live Field A],"\n"," "); var text C = SearchAndReplace($B,"<br>"," "); Trim(Upper($B)) This removes next line and carriage returns and makes all uppercase and trims extra spaces. I apply this to both fields, they have the same lengthof characters, look identical, even copy/pasting them to Notepad++ and turning on hidden characters they look the same but according to QB they are not equal. I have one more question path of enquiry... I have tried swapping between Text and Rich Text. The <br> I think works in Rich Text but \r in text gets converted when I save to something else, perhaps that is the issue? Any text gurus out there? Ideas or assistance would be appreciated... Kind Regards, Jeff Love Anyone having success with an online html email builder for notifications? We are trying to use an online html email builder in our case (unlayer.com) which makes our notification emails look professional, format OK for mobile and desktop easily insert images etc. However some notifications fail to send. After opening a case with QB they tell us ... I can see the outbound email, but there's a rejection from the email server, so it's bouncing back. The reason given is "550 Maximum line length exceeded" (see RFC 5322 2.1.1). There's a few Google searches around that. It's a bit technical, but seems to be relates to maximum string lengths not exceeding more than 1000 characters. Essentially like a long string from what I'm gathering (not the content of the entire message). It may be something in that HTML then that is causing this long string in the message formatting, but it only seems as though it may be happening in certain instances since, as noted, the original test record went to the other user. My question is twofold, First, who is having success using an html email builder that makes it easy to make professional emails that is not having the issues we are having? Maybe we just picked the wrong solution... Second, does anyone have ninja html skills and know a tool that will identify the line length/string length and is there a way to truncate or get around that issue in the raw html? ------------------------------ Thanks, Jeff ------------------------------ Re: SMS/Text Message Solution for outbound, inbound and MMS that work for international numbers Thanks Austin for your insights, I have also done some additional follow up and have learned that... 1. For +1 numbers (US + Canada) Juiced is a good solution outbound, inbound and MMS...it will also do outbound, inbound texts overseas, just not MMS overseas. 2. Twilio with Pipelines is similar in that they do not support MMS overseas and have no timeline to support MMS outside of +1. 3. There are a few small players, we are in Australia, that have outbound, inbound and MMS, one MessageMedia connects with Zapier so that makes it straight forward to get outbound and inbound working, it has an online dashboard where the MMS are visible, though it doesn't look like MMS is supported in the Zap structure...I am waiting to hear back from their technical people. ------------------------------ Thanks, Jeff ------------------------------ SMS/Text Message Solution for outbound, inbound and MMS that work for international numbersWe want to use triggers to send text messages outbound, receive replies with keywords to kick off other steps and also be able to receive images MMS. The operation is overseas so the numbers are international, though they are within the one country. We have investigated Juiced MyText and that fails for cDyne for international numbers MMS does not work. Does anyone know if the Twilio and Pipeline solutions for example extend to receiving replies and MMS replies for international numbers? Send SMS Text Messages with Pipelines and Twilio ------------------------------ Thanks, Jeff ------------------------------ How to combine images stacked together in a LIST into 1 imageI have an app that pulls a LIST of .jpg images in slices into a field so I can build a preview of an image via L to R slices of parts of the images. I am using it works fine in QB forms, but I am using this preview as an "image" in Juiced / Exact Forms + as a preview and only the first slice comes through. I need to somehow concatenate or stitch together the slices from the LIST into a single image, Any ideas? ------------------------------ Thanks, Jeff ------------------------------
