  • 1.  Customizing permissions/access based on org chart

    One of our app's tables feeds into our company's employee database, and can obtain data like who their supervisor is and the name of their department. We want to control access to different home pages/fields/forms etc. based on their supervisor. The employee database also has all of their email addresses, which is how they get Quickbase access. Is there a way for Quickbase to check the user against the employees table and automatically give them access to only their specific pages/fields?

    @PRANOY BEHERA

    You cannot change role settings, but you can change what "Groups" a user is in (Which can then inherit role settings).

    I'd recommend using and IdM like Okta or OneLogin for provisioning. Here is a help article: https://help.quickbase.com/user-assistance/idm_configure_okta.html

    SCIM Provisioning is also an option if an IdM is not possible at your organization. Here is a help article: https://help.quickbase.com/api-guide/scim_using_api_endpoints.html
