  • 1.  How to color/highlight report rows to display resource overlap?

I am building a resource planning tool and I am trying to build a color row if formula for displaying overlap.  For instance, if Resource A is booked date/time that conflicts with another assignment then it would highlight the instances. The below example displays Instructor Name and the overlap would identify for overlaps in Start Date and End Date.  The actual build would be a Date/Time field.

    Any thoughts?

That particular "class" of problem is very difficult to solve with native Quick Base.  You would probably need a solution involving script.  ie contract for some some development work if the issue is important enough for you to need to solve.

Makes sense! What if its not as dramatic as coloring the rows, but a notification or a value change if there is an overlap

It is detecting the overlap which is the challenge, and not what you do nonce you detect the overlap.  So  triggering a Notification instead of row colourization does not simplify the issue.

It is possible to prevent duplicates, if that helps, such as the same Instructor for the same Start Date (for a different course).
