  • 1.  Color Coding Not Available in Custom Reports?

    Posted 09-22-2022 18:09
    Hi,

I'm working to create a few custom reports and charts for one of our tables. In one of these tables, we basically have a delta field, which we want to highlight red if the change is negative and green if the change is positive.
Based on the info from Quickbase in "color-coding in reports", this should be possible.

The issue is that I'm not seeing a "color coding" section anywhere in any of the custom reports (besides the main "List All" table). I've also just tried to add a simple color-coding script in any of the "Add a formula" sections (such as for "Report formulas" and "Summary formulas" sections), but I've had no luck.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Shelby

Can you tell us if you are on a table report type, or is this a Summary Report type you are on?

The 2 reports I'm working with are type Table, and the content is all showing as expected.

    Thanks!

There will be an option near the bottom of the report setup screen for Color Coding and then a radio button for Use a Formula.  Are you saying that you have a table report that does not offer that option?

When I create a Table report from scratch, I do see the option for color-coding.

And apologies, in my last message I answered incorrectly too. The report I'm working with is actually a summary report, which seems to not include a color-coding option in settings.

Summary reports do not support color coding unless you want to try to get fancy and make a Rich Text field to summarize on.

Ah, I finally found the thread I needed at the start.
Summary Report and Color Coding or Rich Text Formula Field

None of the fields in my table are recognized when I use the code in the link above, so I put in a support ticket. If I get it working, I'll update this thread with where I got stuck and how to resolve.

    Thanks!
