Difference between lookup record and search a record in pipeline

What is the difference between lookup record and search a record in pipelines in the channel -quickbase ->records ?

    Lookup = You already have the Record ID# and want to pull information from that record
    Search = You want to search a table for records that meet your described criteria

      Thank you!! I couldn't figure out why my search was failing (used Related ID from Child Record to search for Parent).  Switched to lookup and it worked perfectly
