How to customize a subscription email

Has anyone worked on customizing a subscription email before? We have a "Change Request" form that is submitted to a list of users who are in a specific role (called Program Lead), and there is a notification that is sent out to these Program Leads when a new Change Request is submitted. These users want to see only subscription emails when the new Change Request is submitted for them specifically, but not for others Program Leads. Is there a way to do this?

    Can you clarify of this is a Subscription Report which is sent out say daily, or a Notification which fires when the record is saved?

        It is not currently possible to send a Notification to all users in a Role.  You would need to have a list user type field on the record so the notification will know who to email.  This could be hand typed each record :(

        Or else you could have a table of Role Names and the table could have a list user field there to maintain the list of who is in that Role.  Then that Liost user field could be brought down in a lookup field to the records.
