Adding a record in same table linked to another record

Question

I have a table, CUSTOMERS, in which some of the customers have memberships. I need to be able to create a new customer (not in another table) that can be linked to the original. It is what we consider a referral member. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can simply make a relationship between the table and itself. You will probably get an are you sure type message from QuickBase just to verify that it was not an accident but you can go ahead and do that. The main thing about that is to get the naming of the fields correct, so you understand how the relationship is working.

I.e. make sure the field that gets created as related customer is renamed to something more informational and make sure the look up of the customer name is clear as to which customer.
