Ampersand sign not showing in table dropdowns

Question

I have a table that has an ampersand sign in the name. On the table bar it shows normally and in the table settings it shows normally with the &amp;. However, in a list of the tables either in the settings dropdown or in the show more tables button on the table bar it shows the name with the unicode &amp;amp; in the name of the table. Why would this be doing this and is there anything I can do to fix it so it won't affect user experience? See attachments for screenshots.
