Can I embed an editable (update and create records) Grid Edit report in parent record

I have a task list that requires subtask/to-do list as child table. I'd like this to display as a grid edit report in the parent record, so that my users can quickly check the box "completed" as well as add new to-dos while in that view. I have a hard time getting folks to manage and check off their task, but have had success in Asana where they just have to check a box. I'm hoping this would help having them update our PM QuickBase. I've seen this in an application I no longer have access to.

  • You should be able to go to the Form Properties for that embedded report on the Parent Form and make that report editable.

    Then when users edit the Parent record, they will also be able to grid edit. The children sub tasks or add new sub tasks.

    If the embedded report is not the correct columns, then access that report via the blue link on the form for that field, and edit the report columns or sort.

    Would this work if the role does not have permission to grid edit, but you want one specific report to be Grid Editable?
