Thank you for replying so quickly. Much appreciated. I only plan to use QB to keep track of the thousands of articles I used for my newsletter business. The "Projects" section is all I use--or plan to use. Above are the 12 fields I use, showing the status of each article, its author, its editor, and the newsletter it is slated for. I am getting a sense that one or more of those is somehow interfering with pre-set QB fields. Is there a workaround? Here. Again, thank you for your assistance.

I figured it out! I realized that for some reason QB has a problem with certain field titles. I imported them as "new" without titles and eventually got everything to load. Once it was up there, it let me delete the fields it would not let me change and rename the new fields to whatever I wanted. Everything is good now.
I also solved another problem. The multi-select import was just importing the items in one block even though they should've been separate. A search showed the import Excel sheet had to have these values separated by semicolons instead of commas. Once that was done, everything imported fine.
